May 2001 - Joe received the Barbara and Corbin J. Robertson, Jr. Presidential
Award for Excellence in Education at Baylor College of Medicine.
The award recognizes faculty members who have made long-standing, consistent, and highly
valued contributions to the educational mission of the College.
October 2000 - Good Marriages Don't Just Happen

November 27 & December 4 1999 - Good Families Don't Just
Happen, makes the Houston Chronicle's paperback best seller list.
March 1998 - The Garcia-Prats family was honored as Houston Family of
the Year at The Family Service Center's annual Celebration of Families
luncheon. The Family Service Center is a non-profit community service
organization whose mission is strengthening the family.
August 1997 - Our first book Good Families Don't Just
Happen is published. The book is published by Adams Media
